Caroline turning 16 months old

Our little angel is growing up so fast. She's just so smart.
Example: Bowen took a toy from Caroline and she screamed. She stopped screaming and left the room. She came back shortly holding "Bear" (Bowen's lovey) up in the air smiling. Bowen dropped the swiped toy to the ground and ran to grab his bear. Caroline walked over and picked up the tossed toy and continued to play with it. Smart cookie!

Disney on a budget...

So last weekend we decided to take the kids to Disney. Wait!...our Seasonal passes are "blacked out" through mid-August. That didn't stop the Overtons. What do the kids like most about going to the theme parks? They enjoy the tram ride, train ride, monorail ride, and boat ride. So off we went.

We left the house in a car to catch the tram in the Magic Kingdom parking lot, to board the monorail to catch a boat to the Ft. Wilderness Campground, to hop a horse for a short pony ride ($5), then road a bus to, well, just ride a bus around the campgrounds, then skipped(okay, maybe not skipped) to a playground for some sweating hot fun, then boarded another boat back to the Contemperary hotel to play in the arcade ($4), then cruised by monorail back the the Magic Kingdom parking lot to ride home by car.

For $2.25 per person, we had a great time at Disney!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bowen hits the links

My friend Kristy, her son Evan, and her nephew Maxwell invited us along to a game of putt-putt golf. I had no idea how much fun Bowen would have. He got so excited about "his turn" and would yell out "YES" when he putt, putt, putt, putt, putt, putted his ball into the hole. He has not stopped talking about it. We went a week ago and all he wants to do is play with his plastic golf clubs at home. We will definitely be hitting the links again!

Happy 33rd Birthday!

Me: "Honey, do you feel older?"
Brantley: "Ahhh, not because I had a birthday. Bowen makes me feel old. I can't believe he's 3"

Singing Happy Birthday and Bowen adding "cha cha cha" throughout the birthday song.

Ice Cream cake at the beach

Dinner out with Jack, John, Lori, Reagan and Weston

Happy 4th of July!

We lightly packed the car (HAAAA!!!!) and headed to Indian Shores Beach with Mimi, Papa, Uncle Matt and his girlfriend Barbie. We spent an entire week at the pool, on the beach, and just enjoying all of Brantley's time off of work. Ahhhh!

Bowen and Caroline LOVED the beach. They actually prefer it to the pool. Bowen wanted to swim in the waves, watch the seagulls, find shells, dig holes and fill them with water, fly a kite, and just be on the beach. Caroline equally loved it. She has no fear. She'd run to the water and giggle when she got knocked down by the waves. I really didn't bother bringing a chair down to the beach. Caroline kept me on my toes and we took turns chasing her to down to the shoreline and then down the beach.

We were pleasantly surprised that one of my best friends from Tampa (and matron of honor in our wedding) was spending time at the same condo with her family during the week of the 4th. The kids had so much fun playing on the beach together.

I'm happy to say that my VERY PALE children stayed PALE. No sunburns to report:)

Enjoying Saturday, July 4th despite the rain!

Rain or shine he was having a good time!

BOY OH BOY!!!!

Brantley and I could not have been happier to see our little BOY in a recent ultrasound. He's healthy from head to toe and is growing like a weed (almost a pound now). We are thrilled to announce that Davis Roberts Overton is still due to arrive at the top of November. My due date is November 15th. Since my track record has proved me to have large bouncing babies, my doctor is certain this pregnancy will conclude in an early induction. YIPPEE!!!

Meanwhile, Bowen rubs my belly like a magic lamp every chance he gets. He always says, "that's my Davis" and includes his new brother in his night time prayers. Caroline has no idea what is about to happen. She's just so happy (for now). Caroline is a MAJOR snuggler...a lap dog. I sure hope she's ready to share my lap.

It's a boy! (photo shot from underneath Davis - like he's sitting on a glass table)
